Last February 2010, I bought CONTEST-LOVE.INFO. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to renew the said domain because I got my hands heavy with stuffs related to school.

Yesterday, I clicked one of the buttons of this blogsite and it's still linked to CONTEST-LOVE.INFO. And I saw this:

I feel extremely sad with it because I used to own that domain. But still, the person who bought it has every right over it. So now, I've been thinking of changing the name of this site. I plan to reconstruct the whole site, but I've been contemplating on changing the name. I've been using the contest love name for years. Anyway, we'll see tomorrow.

It's been more than a year since I started this contest blog. At first, I consider this as a joke thinking that I will easily get over with it. But little did I know that I can last for a year (more than a year actually), buy a domain for my contest posts and, now, use Wordpress as my blogging tool.

Yep, I'll move to a new place with Wordpress as my blog tool. So tonight, I'll pack my stuff and move on. And yes, I plan to keep the posts intact :)

My Memorable Christmas Experience

On the eve of Christmas in 2006, there was a huge fire in my neighborhood. Though I have only seen the smoke - since I was still inside the house that time - I was very scarred. And the only thing that run into my mind was: what will happen if the fire will reach us? Fortunately, the fire was put out and it didn't reach us. We - me and my family - were so thankful to the fire volunteers who put out the fire. We empathized with our neighbors who lost their homes. And we sympathized to them by offering what we have. Unfortunately, we're only able to give clothes and water. No food because our family do not celebrate Noche Buena.

With that experience, I have come to realize the real essence of giving and sharing. And that is my memorable christmas experience.

Next Stop: UAE!

One of my goals in life is to travel around the world. If possible, I would want to experience the living and culture of each country. Don't worry, I'm not out of my mind. And if that is not possible, of course, I have my picks. Included in my list are the following countries: Japan, South Korea, China, France, Italy, USA and UAE.

I have reasons for picking these countries, especially the latter. Well, I'm a fan of Arsenal FC. And one of the biggest sponsors of the team is Fly Emirates. Makes sense right? Other than that, there are tons of Filipino workers in UAE. So even if I'm not familiar with the language, I am rest assured that I have a means to find my way. Filipinos are known for their hospitality, so I'm sure that they'd help me out. As for the place to stay-in, there are tons of Hotels in Dubai. Or I might stay in one of Sharjah hotels.

This may sound funny, but a friend reminded me to use Etihad when travelling into Abu Dhabi or Dubai. I'm not sure either but my friend is particular with this so might as well go as he says.

Ever wonder how it feels to be a VIP or a very - and I mean very - important person? Well, I have. Not that I envy them, I just wonder how it feels to surrounded by tons of people. I also wonder how it feels like to have a crowd control patrol and to be in between velvet ropes so that the crowd won't harm you. I also wonder how it feels to be caught in between crowds with stanchions and barricades surrounding you.

Obviously, I've never felt those things before. That is the reason why I am curious. Honestly, I do not know if I can survive that kind of moment but I do want to experience the life of a VIP. With all those cameras flashing towards your direction . . . it might feel nice at first and become annoying as time goes on. But hey, I haven't felt that! I'm just plain curious.

When I started this contest blog last October 2008, that's one of the biggest questions I have in mind. I mean, why would people be so willing to give in GREAT prizes?. It took me a while to figure this out.

And the answer, my friends, is non-other than Internet Marketing.

A contest is an all-in-one package for sponsors. First, they will be able to promote their websites. This is a bit obvious since they will be listed on the official contest page. Second, they will gain link backs. Most contests require a blog entry about the contest. Of course, the list of prizes and the sponsors sponsoring those prizes are included in the post. Hence, they will gain a link back.

So to speak, sponsoring a contest - particularly a HUGE CONTEST - is a cheaper way of marketing a website.

You can say that a virus is amazingly notorious. In microbiology, a virus is not considered as a living entity compared to other microorganisms like bacteria, protozoa and the like. Hence, it can cause harm. Moreover, most of the untreated diseases are caused by viruses. And even in the language of computer and technology, the virus continues to live by it's name. Or maybe worse.

The trojan virus is one of the most common computer viruses around. And this virus has been "alive" for years now. Also, this is one of the main causes of computer or file crashes which causes grave headache to the computer user. And the best solution to this problem is to prevent it from happening. In the health field, we have this dogma that prevention is better than cure. This dogma can be applied in the field of computer and technology. And the prevention that I am pertaining too is non-other than installing an anti virus software. True, having this installed does not guarantee a 100% virus-safe computer but through this, the spread of viruses in the files can be prevented. Moreover, the anti-virus can detect the virus at once. Also, a less effective anti-virus program does not exist. Because the effectiveness of the program lies within the user - and that is by updating the software whenever there are new features available.

Some Place Where I Can Relax

Contest updates are no longer abundant because I am terribly busy with school. I haven't had a free day the past 2 weeks. And I lack sleep. This blog entry is actually an explanation due to the lack of updates. Sorry, it this looks more of a complain rather than an explanation.

After 2 weeks, I finally have my precious day off from school. And the only thing that I feel like doing is to relax. I want to escape from everything - particularly the stress. It's a pity that I only have 2 days. In case I have a longer vacation, I'll probably spend it at Myrtle Beach Resort. If you're wondering why I have chosen Myrtle Beach Resort, well, it's because it's a new resort. I am the type of person who loves adventures. And trying out something new is included in the package. Also, Myrtle Beach Hotels seem to have render great services according to a testimony. And upon looking at some pictures of the beach and some rooms, I feel like wanting to go there. I hope . . . this sembreak, I can go to a beach and I hope that it's at Myrtle's!

And since it uses the finger prints, we can say that the valuables being locked by this lock is safer. Because a finger print is a unique characteristic of each human being. And because of this, only the owner has access over the lock. Moreover, you can bid goodbye to the hassle of looking for the missing key. And the same thing goes on where to hide the key. The key is easily accessible, just look on your finger and there is it! And by any means, you may now open the lock.

Science and Technology are both leading us to a good future. And this keyless lock is just the start.

because i love computers

I have a love for computers, unfortunately the feeling isn't mutual. I do fancy this gadget because it helps a lot in my daily living. And no matter how much I take time to use it, I never have time to know more about it. Knowing more in terms of its technicalities. I have a younger brother who's also into computers. And unlike me, he has taken a grasp on some of the technical words related to this gadget. But hey, don't get me wrong for I know some take USB Drivers and Sound Drivers for example. I know these and whole lot more Computer Drivers. But even though I do know them, I don't know how to assemble them - excluding the USB Drivers though.

Anyway, I've heard from the brother that these drivers need to be updated? Well, I think that's the word. And I think that the reason behind these update is for that part of the computer to not be obsolete. Unfortunately, I do not know how to update these drivers.

I've thought of tons actually - even items that are beyond the limit of the prize that I got. Then, an idea of buying a domain for contest love struck me.

I have owned this blog site for almost a year. And included in my less than 1 year of experience in on and off contest blogging is winning contests. Yes, I have won contests through this blog site. In fact, this blog is my main weapon whenever I join contests. Even though I have won contests with the aid of this site, I have never rewarded it. And I am thinking that buying a domain is a great reward for this site.

The final decision will be made tomorrow, whether I will buy or not. Also, expect new contest posts tomorrow. I am tired and exhausted from my clinical class today so I wasn't able to look for new contests. That's all~

This week is really toxic. I had classes for 6 days straight while my other classmates only has 4. This is because I need to attend my make-up classes for clinical class. Not really a make-up but rather a quiz. Believe it or not, I spent hours going to the venue and spent less than 15 minutes for the quiz. And the day before that, I was very tired with my clinical class on another venue. We're toured around the vicinity and - I think - we walked for a mile or two. It wasn't fun because it is a depressed area. Also, that is the first time I've crossed a highway! Yes, a highway! If there's an officer their, we might be caught red handed for jay walking. And that's all thanks to that BHW.

That's my life this week. And I really thought that it'll end badly. Thankfully, it didn't for this made really made my day:

Bite me, I'm in dream land once again. But sports is something that I definitely love so don't mind me dreaming and dreaming of having my own nfl sunday ticket then watching the game. And mark my words, someday I'll definitely be able to watch that game in the front row seat! Someday. For now, let me dream for I know that it is very impossible now. But I know that someday that would come and I'll definitely be able to go there and watch it live. Oh yes!

I cannot believe that it's almost a year since I've been a contest blogger. I can still remember the reason why I have decided to do contest hunting... it's all thanks to my aunt's story of her friend's son and how he won an Ipod Touch through a contest in the internet. Yes, that's my reason - I want to win prizes! Lots of them! I won't be a hypocrite and deny this... and I admit that as I go along this path, I've realized that winning isn't all about it. And because of these contests, SEO has been introduced to me. Now, I am trying to find my way in order to become a fully pledged SEO blogger but I won't be abandoning my website.

For almost a year, I've had my fair share of anxieties whenever I join contests. Of course, my main goal is to win especially when the prizes are very nice! I also had my disappointments. Contest ♥ Love is a sporadically updated mini contest directory that has been existing since October 29, 2008. This owned and maintained by Janelle.

This site was created in order to house all contest posts made by the author. But the site has grown from a personal contest blog site to a mini directory when contest submission was rendered to visitors who wanted to have their contests published. Then, a few months after banner advertising was introduced. Though successful at first, the author wasn't able to maintain it due to studies. The site was stagnant for months because the author decided to focus on her studies for a certain time frame. And now, she is back with new perks. Now, this site offers both banner and text link advertising. And the catch, the site is PR3.

The author of this blog site is a full-time university student from the Philippines. She enjoys joining and writing about contests. She also enjoys hosting contests at her free time. But due to her packed schedule at the moment, she cannot host contests so she resorts to sponsoring contests.

I'm so happy to announce that Contest ♥ Love's page rank has gone up to PR 3.

I know that I should celebrate the good news by having a contest but I cannot at the moment. I'm really busy with school. Also, I've removed my Weekly Rebate Contest since I'm having a hard time managing it. But I'll try to make it up by hosting a new contest in the sembreak and that is in celebration of having my PR up.
